Vijaya (Cannabis Leaf) Oil — AYUSH-Licensed THC & CBD Oils

Vijaya is the classical Ayurvedic name for the leaf of Cannabis sativa Linn. At Calmosis we turn that leaf into three sublingual oils — Green Mantra, Peace Mantra and Sleep Mantra — each made in India, lab tested and licensed by the AYUSH Department, Madhya Pradesh (Licence No. MPI25E/23/1117).

If you have been searching for THC oil, CBD oil or cannabis oil in India, this page explains what Vijaya oil actually is, how the three oils differ, how to use them, and how buying one legally works — with a free consultation with an AYUSH-licensed doctor included on every order.

What is Vijaya oil?

In Ayurveda, cannabis leaf has been known as Vijaya for centuries and has traditionally been used in formulations meant to bring relaxation, ease and balance. A Vijaya oil is an Ayurvedic preparation in which an extract of the cannabis leaf is carried in an oil base so that it can be measured in small amounts and taken under the tongue.

Because Vijaya products are Ayurvedic medicines, they are regulated under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and are meant to be used under medical supervision. That is why every Calmosis oil is sold against a prescription from an AYUSH-licensed doctor, and why that consultation is free with your order.

Vijaya oil is not the same thing as recreational cannabis. Recreational cannabis is illegal in India under the NDPS Act, 1985, and Calmosis does not sell or promote it. Our oils are licensed Ayurvedic wellness products, made from the leaf and used for wellness support under a doctor's guidance.

THC vs CBD vs full-spectrum — what the labels mean

The cannabis leaf contains many natural compounds called cannabinoids. The two most talked about are THC and CBD, and you will see both terms on Vijaya oil labels.

  • THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the cannabinoid most associated with a noticeable relaxing effect. Oils that contain THC call for careful, doctor-guided dosing, and you should not drive or operate machinery after using them.
  • CBD (cannabidiol) is a cannabinoid valued for calm and rest. A 'CBD-rich' extract, such as the one in Sleep Mantra, is weighted towards CBD.
  • Full-spectrum means the extract keeps the wider natural profile of the leaf — THC, CBD and supporting cannabinoids together — rather than isolating a single compound. Green Mantra and Peace Mantra are full-spectrum THC + CBD oils.

How to choose the right Vijaya oil

The honest answer is: let the doctor help you choose. Your free consultation exists so that an AYUSH-licensed doctor can look at your goals, your health history and any medicines you take before recommending a product and a dose. As a starting point, though:

  • Mainly want better sleep? Sleep Mantra is built for night-time use — a CBD-rich extract with calming Ayurvedic herbs, taken once before bed.
  • Want calm and clarity through the day? Peace Mantra pairs a 20% Vijaya extract with adaptogenic Brahmi and Ashwagandha in small, measured doses.
  • Want the most concentrated, full-spectrum option? Green Mantra is a 100% pure leaf extract with a full THC + CBD profile; dosing is set carefully by the doctor.
  • New to Vijaya? Tell the doctor. A lower-strength product and a cautious starting dose are usually the sensible place to begin.

How to use Vijaya oil sublingually

All Calmosis oils are taken sublingually — under the tongue — which allows faster absorption than swallowing.

  • Shake the bottle and measure the dose your doctor prescribed using the dropper.
  • Place the oil under your tongue and hold it there for a short while before swallowing.
  • Start low and go slow. Effects take time to build and vary from person to person, so wait before considering any additional dose.
  • Take it at the same time each day so you can judge how it suits you, and share that feedback with the doctor.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery after use.

Is cannabis oil legal in India? Prescription and consultation

Medicines containing cannabis leaf (Vijaya) can be legally taken in India under medical supervision, and products for oral use require a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner. Vijaya products are regulated under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Recreational cannabis, by contrast, remains illegal under the NDPS Act, 1985.

Calmosis handles the prescription step for you: every order includes a free consultation with an AYUSH-licensed doctor, who reviews your suitability and prescribes the product and dose. For a deeper look at the rules, read Is cannabis oil legal in India? and our guide to what Vijaya is.

Lab testing and quality

Every Calmosis oil is lab tested, and Green Mantra is third-party lab tested. All products are made in India and approved by the AYUSH Department, Madhya Pradesh, under Licence No. MPI25E/23/1117. Whichever brand you buy from, look for a licence number on the label and ask how the product was tested.

Safety — who should not use Vijaya oil

Vijaya oils are not recommended for:

  • Anyone under 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • People with heart conditions
  • People with diabetes

Side effects and sensible use

Possible side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth and changes in appetite. Do not drive or operate machinery after use, keep the bottle away from children and pets, and tell the doctor about any other medicines you take. Used responsibly at recommended doses, cannabis leaf extract is generally not considered physically addictive, but some people may develop psychological dependence — so follow medical guidance rather than adjusting the dose yourself.

Recreational cannabis is illegal under the NDPS Act, 1985. Calmosis oils are AYUSH licensed (MPI25E/23/1117) and come with a free doctor consultation that provides the prescription.

What is the difference between THC oil and CBD oil?

Which Vijaya oil should I start with?

That depends on your goals and health history, which is exactly what the free doctor consultation is for. Broadly, Sleep Mantra is designed for night-time use, Peace Mantra for daytime calm and clarity, and Green Mantra is the most concentrated full-spectrum option.

How do I take Vijaya oil?

Sublingually — measure the prescribed dose with the dropper, place it under your tongue and hold it briefly before swallowing. Start low, go slow, and wait for effects to build before considering more.

Can I drive after taking a THC or CBD oil?

No. Avoid driving or operating machinery after using any Vijaya product, as it may impair coordination.

Who should not use Vijaya oil?

It is not recommended for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding women, people with heart conditions or people with diabetes. If you take other medicines, mention them during your consultation.
